The
Oak Park Society of Model Engineers (OPSME) is a not-for-profit,
educational HO Gauge Model Railroad Club, beginning its 5th decade!
The OPSME
layout is home to the Oak River Railroad. It has been located in the
lower level of the Dole Learning Center at 255 Augusta Boulevard, Oak
Park, Illinois, since 1979, when it moved from the Lewis Carroll Center
in south Oak Park.
We are
dedicated to the understanding, building, and enjoyment of HO scale
model railroading and the history of the important industry that
inspires it.
Would you
like to be a part of the entirely new model railroad that we're
building?
You can help
us-- to do and or learn how to do carpentry,
electrical, track laying and scenery. The new layout uses
DCC and is accessible for those with mobility concerns.
When you join, you receive our monthly newsletter,
The Oak River
Dispatch. We offer three categories
of membership suited to members' time and budget.
Contact Henry Kranz at hjkranz@sbcglobal.net or
